Last year around this time, Santa left some gifts here for our godsons and we had to deliver them before Christmas Eve.  I don’t even remember what day it was lol.  All I know is there were a lot of nice gifts.  One though had to be replaced, but Santa was able to do that as well.

This year, we’ll be delivering some presents again, but it will be on Christmas Day when we deliver them since we’ll be going over there for Christmas celebration.  We might be a little late getting there, but I’m sure they won’t mind :).  We’ll try and make it by noon or so, depending on the weather or we might deliver them tonight cause the weather is suppose to turn bad on Christmas Eve.  Looks like Santa will have snow falling when he delivers the gifts and presents on Christmas Eve.

Lets hope the weather looks good for Christmas Day, and we will be hopefully celebrating a WHITE Christmas this year! YEAH! 🙂

Hot damn! Yesterday afternoon, we finally got some much needed rain, which not only helped with the fire danger in some areas, but it also washed away all the dirt, pollution and pollen in the air.

We still have pollen out there, but at least it’s not over whelming like it has been :).  Also yesterday morning just around 11 a.m. or so, they cleared the throats of the tornado sirens for the first time, to blow the cobwebs out of them since they had not been used at all over the late fall and winter seasons :).

No sooner they did that, they had to use it with the storm that came through here, cause as it passed over us here in Denver, it was severe with pea size hail, wind and cloud to ground lightening.  The storm turned tornadic as it went over the DIA area, thankfully the funnel that was spotted didn’t turn into a full blown tornado.

We all were fine.  We though seriously got close to an inch of rain out of that storm, and later that night more rain and storms rumbled through and dumped more rain.  The air is so much cleaner now and the temps are very spring like now being in the 60s, but by this weekend, there is a possible chance for a rain and snow mix to hit us.  This is typical weather here in Denver, especially in early spring, it can be spring time and next there would be snow.  I don’t care as long as we get more precipitation and the likes to help with this past dry winter so we don’t wind up having to conserve water and the likes.

I gladly welcome the spring in with open arms :). The weather is fantastic and absolutely lovely, snow, rain, storm and tornadic :). It’s spring what more can you say about it :).

Ahh spring has pretty much sprung here in Colorado, but we have yet to know if there will be snow in the near future to give us a final blast of Old Man Winter.

I’m sitting here on the couch in front of the patio door, and I just opened it.  If I could take out the sounds of the city driving I’d be even happier, but sadly I do live in the southern part of Denver.

I’m listening to a male sparrow calling out for a mate and it’s a beautiful sound.  The sparrow is in the pine tree outside the patio.

We have the same family of sparrows coming back to next and make a home in the bush outside the computer room window, to bad it hasn’t been fixed or I’d have it open for the cat to enjoy the view all the more.

Yes that reminds me lol.  The sparrow that is hunting for a mate decided to fly down to the patio flooring and Penny jumped off the back of the couch and pounced the glass.  She wasn’t happy that she couldn’t have that bird for lunch or din din. LOL.

The sparrow flew up to the railing of the patio and sat there for a while looking down at Penny, and I swear I think he was laughing at her.  Poor Penny just sat down there on the floor eying the sparrow and started her insane chirping and meowing she uses when she sees a bird so ripe for picking and she can’t get it. Hehe, so I went ahead and feed her some food.

Now back on subject here, the temps here in the mile high city have been in the 60s and 70s and will continue in the neck of the woods at least until next Monday, when the temps start to slip back into the upper and mid 50s.  We are also suppose to be getting rain as far as I can see Tuesday and Weds.

Here in Denver there is really no telling what the weather will do at this time of year.  It could snow or it could be tornadic and the likes do to severe weather, so we basically just go with things day by day and enjoy the weather when it’s just right :).  My outdoor allergies will soon start up, and soon I’ll be suffering from both indoor and outdoor allergies, but thankfully I’ve got the allergy medicine that covers both :).

I’m just going to sit back, eat something and enjoy the mix of outdoor life with my country music.  I hope spring will be wonderful to others and to those who get the really bad weather, God will be watching over you, and I hope all survive, though some might not, but at least try your best to stay alive out there.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy it when you can and breath in the clean air and get ready to plant your gardens :).  ENJOY!

For those who live here in the USA, most if not all of us have to change our clocks an hour ahead tonight before we head to bed.

In other words, people, we will lose an hour of sleep tonight in the wee hours of the morning.

Spring forward one hour and Fall back an hour this Fall.  The date is from March 11, 2012 to November 4, 2012.

I don’t mind the one hour loss, but my man will have to readjust so that he has enough sleep to make it to work, but it’s great to know that Spring is almost here.

I’m very much tired of winter right now, the snow is lovely and relaxing to watch, but the temps are annoying as hell and if you get cabin fever bad like I do.  Ugh.

So remember people, to set those clocks one hour ahead tonight just before you go to bed so those of you who go to church won’t miss it and to make sure you aren’t late for work this weekend and Monday :).

Wow.  It turned out to be a very beautiful and slightly warm day here in Denver.  There is a wind as well but oh my does it ever feel good to feel the nice wind blowing through the patio screen and the temp feels much warmer then it actually is.  I have no clue what the temp was, but I think we might have actually gotten into the 60’s today.  It’s right now 57 out there and feeling good!  Now that’s just hinting at a wonderful spring when it finally hits.  Then sadly I’ll have to deal with my outdoor allergies and indoor allergies at the same time, but I’m prepared for it.

Right now I’m just dealing with my indoor allergies from dust to pet dander flying around, but have already taken an allergy pill for it.  I still can not wait for full blown Spring to show up.  My fiancee will probably take me for a drive up in the mountains if the snow isn’t still around in to many places :).  I just can’t wait, but I have to.  La sigh.

Anyways, the sky is bright blue here in Denver with a nice wind blowing and plenty of sunshine and warmth :).  I enjoy these days so much better then the gloomy grey sky and clouds :).  I hope everyone elses weather turns out just as beautiful as it has here.  We are sadly though expecting more snow possibly on Monday :).  Oh well.  Stick around long enough in Colorado and the weather will change in minutes :).

Until later and enjoy the beautiful days and nights :).

Damn! The Wind!

Damn talk about being powerful! One of our friends posted something about our windy situation we’ve had here the past few days or so and it was mostly about last night and the unexpected snow storm that blew in as well.  This is his blog about what happened at his place last night: http://www.contrapositivediary.com/

The wind must have been mighty powerful to blow that big gas grill of his around like it shows in the picture.  I honestly believe it could have been that powerful down there in Colorado Springs, other wise known as The Springs to the people here in Colorado.

I honestly can say this, I live in the Denver area and even we were having some mighty powerful wind blowing here as well.  I could hear it often after I went to bed about 2 a.m. or was it earlier.  I have no clue and can’t remember the exact time, all I know it was in the wee hours of the morning and somewhere after midnight lol, but yeah we heard it blowing away here as well.  My poor windchime out on our patio is a slightly tangled mess but it will eventually untangle itself so I’ve discovered in the past :).

Yeah we weren’t even suppose to have a lot of accumilated snow but the storm decided to dump at least 2 to 5 inches of wet and heavy snow over use here, and had closed down I-70 from Denver going west toward the tunnels up in the mountains, the Eisenhower Tunnel.  It was very, very bad up there this morning.  I don’t know if it is still closed or not but when I-70 West gets closed you know the snow and all is very bad up there in the mountains.

According to our weather people the weekend is starting to look much more promising in being a very beautiful weekend with hopefully plenty of sunshine :).

I am SO ready for Spring, but we usually wind up having snow storms well into May around here :).

Well anyways I couldn’t come up with a good title for this post cause it will have some things that don’t even go together LOL.

Anyways, I sent in my blood sugar and blood pressure results to my doctor today, and needless to say he was VERY proud of the results, so much so in his response to my email he said Wow! Looks great! (lol) Well guess I’m doing something right hehe.

Also, over Valentine’s Day.  My fiancee decided to take me on a romantic dinner and it was indeed romantic, but the food was ok but more towards those with refined tastes then those with simple taste, so if you are the type that have that rich and well defined taste, then this place would be PERFECT for you.  It was also almost $200 dollars all together.  I definitely told him that we won’t do that again :). LOL.  I love that man to death, but he had promised a college buddy of his that he would check out his brother’s restaurant and we did.  The place is called Cohill’s.  I don’t know how many of them are out there though it’s fairly new I think.

We’ve also had some more snow here in Denver recently, but it wasn’t to bad.  We are expecting some more light snow this coming Thursday as well as next Sunday.  It’s going to be fairly windy with a wind advisery out till Tuesday, cause some of these winds will be gusting up to 75 mph.  For those out in the plains part of Colorado they have a slight blizzard going on until this system is totally out of here and is moving on to Kansas so they will most likely be getting it next. I honestly can not wait until spring starts to bloom, and I start seeing green instead of white.  The sky’s here in Denver are a robin’s egg blue color and magnificent in the winter time when just after a snow storm or shower hits.  I think we got lucky this winter so far with no brown cloud hanging over us in the air.  That’s a good sign, that the temps haven’t been to bad and such. Yes I will have to suffer more allergy attacks cause of the pollen in the air, but at least I’ll have medicine to help keep that under control.  Once spring hits and the temps pretty much stay warm enough that patio door and the bedroom window will be open.  I’m going to have to talk to Josh, the maintance man here who knows what’s he doing about trying to fix the computer window clips so that when we open the window it won’t fall forward, sadly I’ve a feeling the window will have to be replaced all together, but until I talk with Josh, we won’t know I guess.

My dad has prostate cancer, but thankfully the doctors at the VA hospital over in Illinois or Kentucky, don’t know which one it is cause it’s about 70 miles away from where my dad lives in Metropolis, IL, yes the home of Superman, and yes the original place where my family came from 42 years ago, or it will be 42 come this Summer.  I was either 2 and a half or 3 and a half, when we’d moved to Arkansas from there for better job opportunities for dad and such.  Life was really good for us back in those days.  We remained in Arkadelphia, Arkansas until I graduated from high school, well we did move around between Hot Springs and Arkadelphia, but dad was able to get his job back at the Henderson State University and we once again went back to Arkadelphia and was there until I graduated from high school in 1990.  From there we left to go up to Oregon to see his brother from May till October of 1990 and then went back to Arkansas.  I was so damn happy to be back in Arkansas.  My Aunt and I didn’t get along to well cause she had raised only boys and had, had no girls. We returned to Arkansas and had remained there until 2008.  Then dad to Metropolis, IL and me to Denver, CO :).  We are all happy :).

That reminds me, hopefully and I think it’s a go, this summer I will be going to see my dad and the rest of my family again in Illinois, as well as some of my Fiancee’s family over in Kentucky.  We was going to do it last year but he’d just started a new job and hadn’t had the vacation time to spare.  Now he’s got plenty I hope.  He still might check in on his work from time to time while on vacation, but I don’t think it’ll be to often.  Mostly we’ll be dragging our laptops with us so that we can keep in contact with our friends and family out there.  We might even take the xbox 360, but don’t know yet.  This is all still pretty much up in the air until summer time :).

Well tomorrow, I’ve definantly got to remember to get the trash ready to be taken out tomorrow.  It’s starting to over flow just a tiny bit.  Anyways, until later and I feel like I need to just randomly type, chat and post.  Later :).
